- The Federal Government of Somalia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Somalia Crisis Recovery Project (SCRP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the re-habilitation of Imbresso Road (8.4Km) in Barawe, South West State. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing.
- The Ministry of Finance, Federal Government of Somalia now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for rehabilitation of 8.4 Km Road of 6m wide carriageway, 1m shoulder and side drains in Hudur town. The scope of the works include;
- Construction of diversions and allowing for passage of traffic
- Site clearance and topsoil stripping
- Earthworks (approx. 55,000 m3)
- Construction of Doweled Plain Concrete (2.8km)
- Construction of Gravel Base Course and Wearing course (5.6 km)
- Construction of Gravel Subbase
- Construction of 1No. Box Culvert (1.5mx2.0m) at Km 6+210
- Pipe culverts (approx. 516m)
- Road furniture.
The construction period will be eight (18) months and a Defects Liability Period of Twelve (12) months.
- Bidding will be conducted through open national competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” dated July 1st 2016 revised November 2017, August 2018, and November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

- The bidding document in English may be obtained free of charge by the interested eligible on the Qaran Jobs website. The Bidding document consists of:
- Volume I: The Request for Bid (RFB) including the Bill of Quantity attached as Annex-A
- Volume II: Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP)
- Volume III: Drawings/ Design
- A virtual pre-bid meeting shall be conducted by the Employer on January 24, 2023, at 1:00 PM (East Africa Time).
- Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before February 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM East Africa Time)
- Electronic Bidding will be permitted. Bids must be encrypted using a password provided by the Bidder 1 hour before the bid submission deadline, Bids submitted after the closing date and time will be rejected.
- Bidders will receive a Google Meet invitation or Zoom to virtually attend the public opening bids immediately and Bids will be opened on February 7, 2023, at 11:30 AM (East Africa Time).
- All Bids must be accompanied by a BID-SECURING DECLARATION using the form included in Section IV, Bidding Forms
