Overall Job Purpose
Provide support to the planning, budgeting, coordination, Implementation, monitoring and evaluation and Reporting of health promotion activities to create awareness and change the behaviour of vulnerable communities and households to prevent disease improve their health condition and resilience in accordance to SRCS strategic health priorities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Programme Implementation:
• Facilitate community participatory needs assessment to diagnose health priorities and mobilize households to improve their health and hygiene conditions
• Provide support in the design and development of communication and health promotion materials such as videos, posters, pamphlets, books and newsletters to create awareness and change behaviors
• Facilitate capacity-building of volunteers to implement health promotion activities
• Utilise community based initiatives such as drama, cultural events and community meetings to create health awareness and disease prevention
• Organise and facilitate community meetings and training workshops to create health awareness
• Conduct home visits to promote hygiene practices, public sanitation, with more emphasis on monitoring latrine use, water collection and storage as well as hand washing practices
• Liaise with communications function to create awareness during disease outbreaks and emergencies
• Prepare and submit accurate and detailed monthly statistics and record of all dispensing transactions
• Participate in emergency preparedness, rapid assessments and emergency responses
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the SRSC Senior Management
Educational Qualifications & Professional Training
Education: Secondary School Education or equivalent qualifications
Professional Training: Public/Environmental Health; Communication skills Certification/Licensing

Background
The Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS) is an independent, non-political humanitarian organization founded in April 1963 and was established with presidential decree No. 187 in 1965. The ICRC then recognized it in 1969 and became a member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the same year.
Main tasks
The main task of an ambulance responder is to provide emergency medical care and transportation to individuals who are injured, critically ill, or facing a medical emergency. These responders are often the first healthcare professionals to arrive at the scene of an accident, medical incident, or disaster.
In case of big incidents, the Ambulance Responder is responsible for assessing security and safety at the scene of incidents and keeping alert and conscious for any other further dangers; producing a METHANE report. Performing prioritisation to the mass casualties incidents and making triage area in order to sort out patients.
At all times, the Ambulance Responder on shift should be prepared and ready with his PPE and response kits/materials that should use. He should always make the best possible effort to hygienic practices that will
As representative of the SRCS the Ambulance Responder should be complying with the Code of Conduct, be smart in appearance and courteous at all times to convey a high level of confidence to the public.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of an ambulance responder include:
1. Emergency Medical Care: Assessing the patient’s condition and providing immediate medical attention and treatment. This may involve administering first aid, managing trauma injuries, providing life support measures, or addressing various medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, seizures, etc.
2. Transportation: Safely transporting patients to a medical facility where they can receive further evaluation and treatment. This involves carefully transferring the patient from the scene to the ambulance and then from the ambulance to the hospital or other appropriate healthcare facility.
3. Communication: Maintaining communication with the dispatch center and healthcare facilities to relay critical information about the patient’s condition, ensuring that the receiving facility is prepared to receive the patient and provide the necessary care.
4. Medical Equipment Management: Ensuring that all medical equipment in the ambulance is properly maintained and ready for use. This includes monitoring and restocking medical supplies regularly.
5. Documentation: Recording accurate and detailed information about the patient’s condition, the medical care provided, and any other pertinent information related to the incident. Proper documentation is essential for maintaining a comprehensive patient record and for legal and administrative purposes.
6. Emergency Driving: Safely operating the ambulance while adhering to traffic rules and regulations to reach the destination quickly and efficiently.
7. Collaboration: Collaborating with other emergency responders, such as firefighters and law enforcement personnel, in cases of accidents or emergencies that require multi-disciplinary responses.
8. Continuous Education: Keeping up with the latest medical advancements and attending regular training sessions to maintain and improve their knowledge and skills.

o Bachelor of Public Health / Diploma of Nursing with demonstrated experience in prehospital care or hospital emergency unit
o Shortlisted applicants will be asked to sit a 60-minute test, with the pass mark set at 50%.

Overall Job Purpose
Conduct assessment of child health needs for children under 5 and provide quality and comprehensive nursing, treatment and follow-up of patients in designated out-patient clinics. Ensure delivery of high quality nursing interventions covering provision of antenatal services, postnatal care, immunization and reproductive health, nutrition, HIV/Ads, health and hygiene promotion and epidemic response in line with SRCS health policy guidelines and primary healthcare nursing standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Programme Implementation
• Diagnose common health conditions to identify child health needs for children under 5
• Deliver an immunization program to ensure all children under 5 are appropriately immunized
• Assess and monitor patterns of weight gain and growth in children under 5
• Provide health education to mothers on breastfeeding and hygiene promotion
• Recommend referral of severe complicated cases for specialized treatment
• Conduct home visits and follow-up discharged patients and provide continuity of care
• Evaluate healthcare outcomes on under 5 children and prepare individualized reports
• Raise requisitions for replenishment of drugs and supplies as needed
• Compile accurate data on all OPD cases of under 5 children and prepare monthly reports
Operations Management
• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the OPD health programme line with strategic priorities
• Identify capacity-building needs of the auxiliary and volunteer nursing team and ensure they are properly trained and well supported to implement programme activities
• Participate in emergency preparedness, rapid assessments and emergency responses
Partnerships/Relationships
• Develop and enhance relationships with strategic partners, donors, local authorities and community leaders to maximize support for maternal and child health
• Represent SRCS in relevant conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings Perform other related duties as assigned by the SRSC Senior Management
Education : Diploma in Nursing/Midwifery with experience in maternal and child health or equivalent qualifications
