Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Garoowe, Somalia
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in senior management work experience in Finance, preferably in a Financial Institution. The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge in business administration, a strong work ethic, and the ability to ensure achievements of the Tawakal Express’s financial goals, objectives, budgets as well as managing inherent financial risks through effective financial planning and record keeping.
This role requires an individual who has great communication skills and ensures effective communication with the CEO and the rest of the finance department.
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for strategic planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of a company, including business planning, budgeting, monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, risk, governance, analysing the company’s financial strengths and weaknesses, and proposing corrective actions, preparing the Quarter & Annual Report for shareholders.
- Actively participate as part of Senior Management team in the monitoring and overall development of the business and compliance with approved budgets, plans.
- Advise the CEO, Board and Senior Management in all finance-related matters.
- Champion strategy formulation and execution, ensuring Business units have the relevant information to assess performance against set objectives.
- Act as Secretary to Finance & Audit Committee.
- Work with the wider senior management team to interact with all stakeholders, multilaterals, and other global and local entities to enhance the institution profile, build alliances.
- Ensuring maintaining effective relationship and co-ordination with key stakeholders including related entities, government bodies, etc.

Collaboration and Communication
- Develop and agree on individual performance standards and targets with all direct staff.
- Ensure succession development and training plans are in place for employees in the Finance department.
- Ensure quality performance management processes and practices are undertaken in all areas under the control of the role holder.
Ideal Experience & Education
- At least 5 years Senior Management work experience in Finance, preferably in a Financial Institution.
- A business-related degree.
- CPA, FCCA or ACCA.
- Knowledge of law and taxation.
- A master’s degree in business administration is desirable.
