Job Description

This ‘Recruit from Roster’ job opening is only open to roster applicants who are already placed on pre-approved rosters, following a review by a United Nations Central Review Body. Organizational Setting and Reporting

This position is located in the Geospatial, Information and Communications Technology Section (GITTS) located in the UNSOS Mogadishu International Airport base at the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) in Mogadishu, Somalia. The Section is responsible for providing GIS and ICT services in remote and insecure field environments to facilitate day-to-day operations.

Mogadishu is classified in the ‘E’ category and as a non-family duty station.

The Chief, Geospatial, Information Systems and Telecommunications reports to the Director, UNSOS. There is a functional reporting relationship to the Information and Communications Technology Division, Department of Field Support at United Nations Headquarters.

UNSOS is responsible for support to AMISOM, UNSOM, the Somali National Army (SNA) and the Somali Police Force (SPF) on joint operations with AMISOM. For more information, please visit: https://unsos.unmissions.org/unsos-mandate
