Programmatic:

§   Provide day to day technical and programmatic support related to nutritional and integrated medical services at the facility level guided by strategies and approaches related to the implementation programs

§   Contribute to the development of lessons learned from programs and projects related to nutritional and integrated medical services and apply these lessons to modify existing programs and improve the design of new programs.

§   Assist in strengthening a system of reporting on program progress against stated objectives and monitoring and evaluation frameworks

§   Contribute to the development of program strategies, subproject documents and work plans

§   Works closely with assigned teams to ensure activities are implemented according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s).

§   Maintain good communication and liaison with other staff, departments and the general beneficiaries.

Personnel management:

§   Daily management of the fixed site team and problem-solving and conflict resolution among the team

§   Supervision of cleaners and their work organization in collaboration with the logistic department

§   Participate in the evaluation of the staff

§   Medical care:

§   Assess and monitor the health status of each patient and refer severe cases with complications to the general hospital

§   Administer drugs to the patients according to the protocol and guideline

§   Assess the patient’s progress weekly according to Somalia protocols

§   Provide clinical examination and available laboratory investigations

§   Ensure or coordinate all administrative tasks related to ‘patients’ admission, transfer paper, referral to the hospital

§   On request, perform any additional duties or instruction given by the health and nutrition coordinator

§   Clinical management and training experience and ability to understand the full range of issues around integrated health programs.

§   Familiarity with Somalia’s public health sector systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable

§   Good understanding of nutrition treatment

§   Ability to read and write in Somali & English
