Background

VSF Germany is an international Non Governmental Organization, providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable communities in areas where livestock is of importance. VSF Germany supports in animal health, livestock related agriculture, marketing, food safety, drought responses and mitigation, capacity development of communities and governmental institutions, peace and conflict resolution with the ultimate aim of food security and strengthened livelihoods of pastoralist communities. In the region, VSF Germany implements activities in the Republic of South Sudan, Sudan, Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia. It focuses on Livestock, food security and Livelihoods, Natural Resources Management, Peace and Conflict, Good governance, Disasters & Emergency, and Agriculture, marketing, but also with developing the capacity of communities and governmental institutions or initiating peace and conflict resolution we work towards food security and strengthened livelihoods of pastoralist communities. The regional office is based in Nairobi.

This position is based in Hargeisa and is responsible for Preparation of meals for staff according to hygiene standards in order to ensure their nutritional needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out the preparation of meals for staff

Follow at all times all hygiene standards

Control stock of food and timely request for items prepare shopping list and make purchases if required.

Ensure meals to be served on time.

Set table before every meal and clean up after each meal.

Ensure cleanliness of all facilities utensils and equipment.

Look after all equipment provided.

Keep an inventory of kitchen utensils and equipment i.e. plates glasses cutlery cookware etc. and ensure its integrity.

Report all important information (lost robbery damages deterioration incident etc.).to supervisor

Keep clean office and guesthouse building especially windows doors and office furniture on a daily basis.

Keep clean and hygienic office floors surfaces walls doors windows and carpets.

Clean the toilet and put the toilet paper soaps and washing liquid in its designated places on a daily basis.

Check all bathrooms have clean towel and soap for washing hands.

Use chlorinated solution in order to disinfect the surfaces.

Manage properly disposal of garbage

Report any abnormality to the supervisor.

Qualification ,Experience and skills required

Literacy essential course on cooking desirable.

Basic verbal English speaking skills.

Two years cooking and cleaning experience with INGO

Basic Computational skills
