Job Summary

The job entail participation in networking operations monitoring and maintenance interventions when required. The applicant must posses the following qualifications and skills; Bachelor’s Degree in computer science (Field of Networking) or Information Technology In addition to that professional Certifications is required such as CISCO Certifications with minimum CCNA and CCNP with online exams. Huawei certification routing and switching is desirable, and its additional value added Minimum of seven (5) years of relevant experience is required

Job Description

–          Multi-skills: Including professional network engineer and Radio Network(Transmission)  who has the necessary skills to plan, implement and oversee the Telecommunication network environment that supports different and complex network component providing variety of services including voice, data, video and financial transactions

–          Planning and implementing network security measures

–          Network Configuration, managing, and support network devices which may include routers, switches, LAN controllers, WLAN optimizers, firewalls, load balancers, and VLAN devices

–          Perform performance tuning and preventive maintenance on network devices, establishing performance thresholds, monitoring performance, and diagnosing and correcting network slowdowns/congestion. Perform capacity planning based on network utilization and performance trends

–          DNS, DHCP, and IP address management services

–          An analytical mind

–          An ability to learn new technologies quickly

–          Good time management skills

–          An ability to follow processes

–          Strong documentation skills

–          Good communication skills – both written and verbal

–          Functional and Technical Skills, Independence, Attention to Detail

–          Excellent management and supervising skills

–          One of the most valuable skills for Networking field engineers is both Somali and English communication
