JOB SUMMARY:
As the Chief Cashier at our esteemed private hospital, you will play a crucial role in managing all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with established policies and regulations. Reporting directly to the Hospital Administrator, you will lead a team of cashiers and oversee the day-to-day cash operations within the hospital premises. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
Area of Accountability:
- Cash Management:
- Oversee all aspects of cash handling, including receiving payments, disbursing funds, and maintaining accurate records of cash transactions.
- Implement robust cash control procedures to minimize errors and discrepancies.
- Monitor cash levels and initiate replenishment orders as needed to ensure operational continuity.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly cash reconciliation reports.
- Analyze cash flow data and provide insights to support financial decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile cash transactions with general ledger accounts.
- Supervision and Training:
- Lead and motivate a team of cashiers, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to ensure high-performance standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and implement development plans to enhance staff competencies.
- Foster a positive work environment characterized by teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Compliance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, including know-your-customer (KYC) guidelines.
- Implement stringent security measures to safeguard cash assets and prevent unauthorized access or fraudulent activities.
- Conduct periodic audits to assess compliance with internal controls and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Customer Service:
- Serve as a point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff regarding cash-related inquiries and issues.
- Resolve customer complaints or discrepancies promptly and courteously, maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and responsive service delivery.
- Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system upgrades or technological solutions to optimize cash handling procedures.
- Continuously monitor industry best practices and emerging trends to drive innovation and improvement in cash management practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Treasury Professional) preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cash management, preferably within the healthcare sector.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and internal controls.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and empower staff.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software applications and Microsoft Office suite.
