DISH (Dr. Ismail Specialty Hospital) is a private Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital, located in Hargeisa, Somaliland, committed to improve the quality of life of Somali’s in the Horn of Africa

DISH is seeking a qualified and experienced Hospital Administration Manager to run the medical facility. To be successful in this role, you should have a deep understanding of all administrative hospital procedures, from creating work schedules and communicating with doctors to budgeting and maintaining supplies stock. You will use your organizational and leadership skills to supervise employees and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.

Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for making sure that daily hospital operations run smoothly.



Monitor and evaluate day to day activities of all the different departments.

Implement effective policies and operational procedures of the departments, so they function as one.

Evaluate hospital staff, prepare daily reports and create standardized performance evaluations.

Monitor financial operations and expenses and suggest cost effective alternatives.

Prepare monthly financial statements with the accountant and create quarterly and annual budgets.

Lead with positive interpersonal relations with fellow employees, supervisors and senior management.

Resolve potential issues with patients.

Stay up to date with healthcare rules and regulations of Somaliland.

Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers, outside consultants, associations, government agencies and negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and doctors.

Design innovative development and human resource strategies to create a motivated, compassionate and caring staff and utilize the work force to achieve maximum efficiency.

Execute other activities delegated to him/her by the CEO or executive management.


Education: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Public Health and or Master’s Degree in Business Administration with relevant experience

Experience: 4 years’ experience as an Administrative manager in a Hospital or Health Facility


Excellent in written and spoken English (mandatory)

Basic computer skills and database systems

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to solve problems and work under very stressful situations

Superb judgment, problem-solving and cognitive skills

Strong interpersonal skills
