One Earth Future Foundation (OEF) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization with a vision of developing effective systems of multi-stakeholder governance on select issues to reduce armed conflict. Hence our tagline ” Peace Through Governance.” As an operating foundation, OEF focuses on both researching and developing ideas, and implementing those ideas in practical projects. Central to OEF’s mission is partnering closely with the business community. Shuraako, a program of OEF, supports the OEF mission through fostering job creation by facilitating funding into small and medium-sized enterprises that show promise.
Primary Role
Support record-keeping, budgetary, financial, and reporting requirements for OEF. Manage additional support staff including office security, office cleaners, office gardeners, etc. This position is located in OEF’s Mogadishu, Somalia office.

This position is located at the Shuraako field office in Mogadishu, Somalia
Duties
- Manage record-keeping, budgetary, financial, and reporting requirements of the Somaliland office.
- Manage support staff like office security, office cleaning, office gardening, etc.
- Effectively deliver the functions of the Shuraako Somaliland office
- Monitor Shuraako loan portfolio and produce client progress reports to Shuraako team.
- Provision of assistance and support on projects to Shuraako team where required.
- Liaise with Shuraako team on issues of office management
- Compare client submissions against file checklist for completion
- Support and/or coordinate travel for the Shuraako team
- Support and/or organize Shuraako working group meetings
- Support the creation and/or editing of website content
- Assist Shuraako team with project specific research
- Maintain databases as assigned (i.e., Smart Sheets, Salesforce)
- Review and provide comments on draft documents, proposals, publications, as requested
- Assist Deputy Director with preparation of documents and proposals for meetings as needed
- Support management of incoming correspondence and client inquiries
- Support applicant field review process pre-funding and post-funding (loan servicing) through document gathering and conducting file audits
- Organize and maintain field office hard copy files
- Support the planning and delivery of Shuraako-hosted convenings, including conferences, forums, and other events
- Support of field budget submissions
- To undertake any additional duties and provide assistance to Shuraako team from time to time.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Competences
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, international studies, or related discipline is strongly preferred
- A minimum of 4 years of administrative assistant work experience
- Prior experience working with non-governmental and/or international organization
- Superb oral and written communication skills in Somali; and strong oral and written skills in English are required
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teams of individuals at all levels both inside and outside the organization
- Ability to engage and correspond with important stakeholders from diverse cultures
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
