As the Nutrition Nurse, you will be responsible for;

1. Plan and organise OTP/SFP at designated distribution sites in liaison with OTP/TSFP Supervisor.
2. Work closely with SFP staffs to ensure all aspects of the programme are understood and agreed and appropriate referrals take place to and from the TSFP.
3. Prepare plan of action for effective OTP implementation in consultation with the OTP/TSFP Supervisor
4. Supervise the activities of the (registrar/measurers, community mobilizers, community health workers)
5. Work closely with the teams to ensure all children are screened correctly
6. Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the teams, including admission, discharge and transfer to and from the OTP/TSFP
7. Ensure comprehensive health checks and treatment according to the protocols
8. Review the forms completed by staff to ensure completion, accuracy and coherence
9. Ensure adequate availability of all medical and food supplies and ensure stock is pre-positioned as planned by discussing with logistics
10. Follow-up and provide feedback to the OTP/TSFP Supervisor on the amount and quality of the treatment supplies if it does not comply with specified quality standards.
11. Report on progress and any problems in a timely manner
12. Ensure cases not meeting admission criteria return home as early as possible and understand why their child is not admitted
13. Through liaison with the community mobilizers and nutrition volunteers, provide effective follow up of all cases: particularly tracing of children who are absent from the programme, sick children, long stay children, children not gaining weight, and children with social problems etc.
14. Development of fact sheets and other training materials as required for the MOH health staffs under the guidance of Ministry of Health and other relevant staffs by ADA.
15. Provide key health and education messages to beneficiaries based the protocol and guidelines
16. Respond to inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the program admission and discharge whenever necessary at the OTP/SFP sites.
17. Providing MOH staffs with technical support in convening meetings and answering questions on topics relevant to the project as necessary.
18. Follow-up and ensure the field team interacts with the beneficiaries properly
19. Perform any other duties requested by the immediate supervisor

Required Skills and Experiences

1. Bsc Public Health, Nursing, Medicine with 3-4 years’ experience.
2. Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field
3. Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to distribution sites
4. Excellent spoken and written Local and English languages
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills
6. Experience in closely working with MOH at health facility level is advantageous
7. Previous experience working for NGOs an asset
8. Ability to prepare weekly and monthly program reports
