Background

Somaliland has a vibrant and flourishing business sector which contributes more than 90% of the country’s GDP and serves as the biggest employer. The existing business environment permits many micro, small and medium enterprises to be established which in turn create many jobs and lift many households out of poverty. To contribute to the country’s efforts in creating jobs and reducing poverty, Adeeg-same 24 is a new food super market located in the center of Hargeisa which will open its doors very soon. Adeeg-same 24 envisions to be a leading food super market in Somaliland and the Horn of Africa through technology business solutions, home delivery services and a world class customer satisfaction mechanisms. It will employ mobile application technology solutions with e-payments systems and modern home delivery services for selling its products. Adeeg-same 24 profoundly believes the best way to attain our vision and business goals is to attract a highly qualified professional staff with the right attitudes, ethics and behavior. Adeeg-same 24 is therefore seeking to recruit two female paid qualified interns who can deliver the company’s vision and goals.

  1. Sales and Marketing Officer (Intern) 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Developing and sustaining long-lasting relationships with customers.
  • Calling potential customers to explain company products and encourage purchases.
  • Researches client base to find new types of customers and sells to them accordingly.
  • Analyzes and creates a plan for engaging the target market.
  • Creates a plan for gaining customers and then retaining them.
  • Makes product appeal to the target market.
  • Answering customers’ questions and escalating complex issues to the relevant supervisors, as needed.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of company products.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of all sales, scheduled customer appointments, and customer complaints.
  • Informing product developers of possible product improvements and changes to ensure that company products meet current market needs.
  • Preparing cost-benefit analyses for prospective and existing customers to determine the most suitable purchase options.
  • Analyzing competitors’ products to determine product features, benefits, shortfalls, and market success.
  • Demonstrates superior time management skills and meets sales deadlines

Required qualifications, skills and core competences

  • High School Leaving Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, or related field is preferred.

  1. Finance and administration Officer (Intern) 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets.
  • Managing records and receipts.
  • Reconciling daily, monthly and yearly transactions.
  • Preparing balance sheets.
  • Processing invoices.
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of organizational products and process.
  • Providing customer service to clients.
  • Resolve financial disputes raised by the customer service and sales teams.
  • Being a key point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting matters.
  • Handling administrative, logistics and procurement tasks.
  • Supporting the supervisors and executives with projects and tasks when required

Required qualifications, skills and core competences

  • High School Leaving Certificate
  • Accounting, Finance, Business or Business Administration, Economics or related is preferred.
  • Basic Computer Literacy, Microsoft Office, Database Skills, Business, and Accounting skills.
  • QuickBook, Beachtree, P.O.S or other accounting soft wares is essential.
  • Strong IT skills is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Superior Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Invention, innovation and creativity.
  • Positive attitude, integrity and strong ethical standards is required.
  • Ability to work under pressure, working independently and willingness to learn is required

Duration of work

Duration of work is six (6) months with possible employment opportunity, depending on the company performance.

 Working hours

This is a full-time job, i.e. 7:30am-12:30pm; and 4:00pm-7:00pm
