- Background
The Development Fund is an independent Norwegian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered in Norway, Somaliland, and Puntland. The Development Fund has been supporting local NGOs under various programmes in both Somaliland and Puntland. The Development Fund is committed to the fight against hunger and poverty. Our vision is of a sustainable and equitable world, we help small farmers to stand stronger when climate change brings extreme weather and difficult conditions for cultivation. Every year, we reach out to half a million people in Africa, Asia, and Central America.
The actual work is done by our partners who have long-standing experience and local knowledge. In this way, our work becomes better. The Development Fund constantly participates as a professional support player in the design and implementation of the projects.
- Purpose
The main purpose is to pre-qualify enumerators for the MEAL of DF Somaliland/Somalia. The enumerators will participate in assessments carried out by DF and its partners. She /he will carry out data collection activities for assessments and surveys including: Baseline survey, annual assessment, mid-term evaluation, End line, final evaluation, other qualitative assessments as well as data entry activities and any other miscellaneous exercises relating to data gathering assigned by the MEAL Team.
- Scope
DF is seeking for Pre-qualified Enumerator (40 Enumerators for Somaliland and 20 enumerators for Puntland) for the MEAL and Research activities in Somaliland and Somaliland.
DF pre-qualified list of enumerators will be valid starting from June 2021 to May 2022.
- Key Responsibilities of the enumerators
- Prior experience in data collection both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Attend data collection related sessions and briefings prior to fieldwork.
- Prior experience in Mobile Data Collection Applications (e.g., Kobo & ODK).
- Formerly participated in Household surveys, Focus Group Discussion (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs)
- Ensure the confidentiality of collected data and data storage are properly maintained.
- Ensure effective field data collection in line with the methodology, tools and specific guidelines set as per DF requirements.
- Accurately collect high quality and reliable data as instructed.
- He/she must be willing to travel to the different regions of the Somaliland.
- Knowledge on the local context and community dynamics.
- Ability to communicate in both Somali and English.
- Coordinate with DF MEAL or concerned programme teams on daily work and problems encountered in the field.
- Excellent Communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent Interview Skills.
- Qualifications and Experience
- At least a diploma or degree in the relevant fields of social sciences, Agri-culture, statistics, economics, and monitoring and evaluation
- Prior experience in conducting field data collection work using household survey and participatory approaches in different locations in Somaliland and Puntland is essential.
- Prior experience in interviewing and facilitating FDGs (Focus Group Discussions) and in-depth interviews.
- Experience with mobile data collection platforms like KoBo, ODK, Enketo
- Strong communication skills and good working relationships with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and commitment to meet deadlines.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience of similar engagement with international NGOs, Local NGOs, COBs, Civil Societies or Research institutions.
