Job Summary:
DBG is seeking for a qualified and an experienced Professional to fill the position of Project Assistant. The Project Assistant will provide support to the Education Project Officer in implementing and monitoring education activities in Hirshabelle state. The role will involve assisting with planning, implementation, and reporting of project activities, as well as engaging with stakeholders and communities. The Project Assistant will work closely with the Project Officer to ensure program delivery aligns with project objectives and donor requirements. Key Responsibilities: · Collaborate with the project officer to coordinate and implement education activities, ensuring the timely production and collection of quality documentation. · Support the implementation of education interventions by developing detailed work plans, procurement plans, and logistics planning.
· Engage with communities to plan and execute project activities in a transparent and accountable manner. · Facilitate awareness of project goals and ensure equitable distribution of resources, with a focus on gender, conflict, and vulnerability sensitivity. · Monitor and coordinate education activities, including the distribution of project supplies, to ensure transparency and accountability. · Develop and monitor action plans for education program activities, and assist in preparing monthly progress reports and success stories. · Represent DBG in relevant networks and forums and engaging in advocacy with education stakeholders at state level. · Engage directly with beneficiaries, community members, local leaders, and partner organizations during field visits to foster relationships, address concerns, and gather feedback from stakeholders. · Conduct field visit to ensure timely reporting on monitoring activities as outlined in project work plans. · Participate and support in data collection, baseline, mid and endline evaluations, and needs assessment throughout the project period. · Support the Project Officer in advocacy efforts by identifying key stakeholders and developing partnerships to advance education goals in the region. · Participate in learning and capacity-building initiatives to enhance personal and team skills in education project management and implementation. · Ensure accountability in all project activities by adhering to donor requirements, DBG policies, and best practices in project implementation. · Collaborate with local partners to leverage resources, expertise, and experiences in enhancing the impact of education interventions within the community and region. · Assist with any other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator. Competence, Skills, Experience and Academic Qualification: § Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field § Minimum 2 years of experience in project support or related field § Knowledge of education in emergency projects is an asset § Familiarity with project management principles and tools § Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook § Strong communication and interpersonal skills § Excellent spoken and technical writing ability in English, including report writing § Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure § Experience in the child safeguarding guidelines and policies. § Experience working in fragile contexts and with local communities § Understanding of community mobilization and engagement § Ability to take initiative and contribute to project objectives
