Project: Strengthening Community Resilience and Economic Stability in Somalia
This project aims to improve livelihoods, build resilience, and support sustainable economic opportunities in Somali communities. The project is scheduled to run until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability.

Role Summary

Moonwall seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of this UNDP-backed project in Somalia. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background, experience in international development, and an understanding of Somalia’s unique challenges and opportunities. As Project Manager, you will oversee project planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Moonwall’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution: Develop, manage, and execute project work plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure all objectives are met on time and within budget.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain collaborative relationships with government officials, local community leaders, and international partners to foster project support.
• Monitoring & Evaluation: Set up performance indicators and tracking systems, evaluating project outcomes and adjusting strategies as necessary.
• Financial Oversight: Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring financial compliance and responsible use of funds.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project team members, promoting a collaborative, results-oriented work environment.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed reports for Moonwall and UNDP, documenting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, International Development, Social Sciences, or related fields. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in project management, with at least 2 years in the international development or humanitarian sector. Experience with UNDP projects or work in Somalia or East Africa is highly desirable.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, complex, and potentially challenging environments.
• Language: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
