ALIGHT (formerly American Refugee Committee) is an international non-profit organization with its headquarters located in Minneapolis, USA. Over the past 30 years, ALIGHT has provided humanitarian assistance to millions of beneficiaries in 29 countries, currently reaching over 10 million refugees, IDPs, and disaster-affected communities in 17 countries around the world, helping people regain control of their lives after conflict and natural disasters. ALIGHT has been operating in the Somali peninsula since 2011, serving returnees, IDPs, and vulnerable communities in Sool, Sanaag, Togdheer, Bari, Middle Shabelle, Lower Juba, Nugal, Gedo, and Banadir regions with full-fledged program offices in Mogadishu, Kismayo, Dhobley, Garowe, and Hargeisa. ALIGHT works in strategic locations where there is a limited presence of international actors and a deep need expressed by national development plans and regional governments.

ALIGHT is implementing a WASH program under the BHA/OFDA project in Somalia offices targeting IDPs, poor households, and disabled people. In reference to this, ALIGHT invites all interested and qualified contractors to submit a tender for the construction of new communal latrines for IDPs, poor households, and disabled people in Kahda District, Mogadishu, Somalia.
