RESTOCKING OF VULNERABLE HOUSEHOLDS OF GOGEYSA VILLAGE IN GABILEY DISTRICT

Background:

Horn of Africa Voluntary Youth Committee (HAVOYOCO) is a regional non-governmental Organization (NGO) operating in Somaliland and Ethiopia. HAVAYOCO was founded in 1992 and since its inception it has successfully implemented different development projects in Somaliland and Ethiopia. HAVAYOCO was initially set up with the aim of being a volunteer and learning institution and to address the needs of poor communities and marginalized groups in Somaliland.

HAVOYOCO mission is to empower vulnerable communities in the Horn of Africa through motivation and capacity building so they can improve their standard of living.

The Service Needed

HAVOYOCO in partnership with the Development fund of Norway is currently implementing a CRISP project with the overall objective of increasing the resilience of communities in Marodijex, Togdheer and Sool regions. And, this restocking will be implemented in selected community for Gogeysa village under Gabiley district in Marodijex region. The total livestock to be distributed is 420 shoats at Gogeysa community, approximately 21 HHs for targeting to reduce the vulnerability of the communities and households to climate related shocks and disasters.

Shoats Specifications

Shoats:

The goats should be female starting from 1 year up to 1 and ½ years

The sheep should be female and its age should start on 6 months up to 1 year.

Have no any deformations

Should be healthy

Should be from the village intended to make the distribution

Objective

Restocking of livestock (Shoats) is a part of the activities that is going conducting, and in the meantime – this year. The project planned to give shoats to the destitute households whom does not have better livelihoods to cover up the needs and requirements of their households.

The villages will have 420 Shoats (sheep and goats) as the team prepared a selection criterion for the beneficiaries of this activity in order to make the distributed per the plan of the project. This means there should be transparency for the distribution of shoats as the given families will be the most vulnerable households whom have the rights to get is going to allocate.

Methodology

HAVOYOCO will verify the Sheep and Goats with respect the criteria of this TOR and the supplier will distribute in the presence of HAVOYOCO staff to the vulnerable households.

A veterinary expert identified by HAVOYOCO to inspect the health of the Sheep and Goats before the distribution to ensure they are free from diseases and deformities.

Monitoring

In contrast to the short period needed for giving out livestock, a relatively long period is required to monitor the degree of success achieved by recipients. The information desired relates both to operational difficulties and to evaluating socio-economic impacts.

The Village to be Distributed and Composition of Shoats

The shoats should be 50/50 where 50% are goats and 50% are shoats.

The age of the Shoats needs to be 1 year up to 1.5 years.

The village we need to distribute the shoats will be Gogeysa village.

Terms and Conditions

A copy of license/certificate from the ministry of public works, housing and transport, Local Government valid up to July2021 or later.

Updated Bank statement.

Must have relevant experience of 3 years in similar field. Please attach evidence like certificates, recommendations etc.

Work plan –clearly showing the construction timeframe.

Updated company profile indicating full address, organogram, contact persons, key personnel, their qualification, experience and list of machineries.

Interested companies are advised to collect a complete set of bid documents and instructions at from HAVOYOCO’s HQ Office at Badda Cas, Hargeisa or HAVOYOCO Burco office between 8:00am to 3:30pm (Sunday to Thursday).Sealed bid documents MUST be returned to HAVOYOCO HQ Office or HAVOYOCO Burco Office in a sealed envelope clearly stating the company name and its contact address starting form 5th August to 19th August 2021 not later than Thursday 19th at 3:30pm.
