Attendant (3 Positions) – Berbera, Sahil Region, Somaliland

BERBERA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT COMPANY (BIAC)

Responsibilities

Terminal Cleaning

• Clean, dust and mop office floors by using a variety of equipment and supplies
• Ensure that cleaning liquids are mixed in correct and safe quantities
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets and make sure that they are dried out before the day begins
• Wipe down desks and chairs and make sure that an stubborn smears are removed using appropriate cleaning materials
• Empty trash cans and ashtrays and make sure that all trash is properly disposed off
• Clean and wash down windows and ensure that they are dried properly
• Ensure that the office kitchen and equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
• Wash down restrooms and ensure they are sanitized properly
• Replenish towels, soap and toilet paper in bathrooms on a regular basis
• Wipe down walls, doors and wall hangings using appropriate types of cleaners and cloth
• Replace light bulbs and identify maintenance issues
• Apply sealant to floors
• Ensure proper cleanliness of the areas around the office such as walkways and parking lots
• Move around heavy equipment and furniture for the purpose of storage or rearranging
• Make sure that office is locked properly at the end of the day.

Aircraft cleaning

• Responsible for cleaning aircraft cabins which include: passenger cabin zones and as applicable, upper deck of aircraft in transit or lay over. Includes emptying trash from seat pockets, ashtrays and overhead bins, removing rubbish from closets and doghouses and cleaning bulkheads, side walls, ceiling panels, seat upholstery, meal trays, passenger door entry areas, windows and window shades and vacuuming or shampooing carpets
• Clean toilet compartments including toilet bowl, shroud, cabinets, sinks, mirrors and mirror lights and floor covering and maintains high cleaning standards
• Ensure that Cleaning equipment and materials are well maintained and prepare supplies accordingly
• Clean galleys, includes emptying waste containers and cleaning storage compartments, ovens, cabinets, freezers, work surfaces and floor covering in galley area

Wheel Chair

• Ensure safe handling of wheel chair passengers to and from the aircraft.

Ramp Duties

• Load and offload passenger baggage and cargo.
• Carry out other similar or related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Primary School
• Read, write speak basic English
• Work shift duties
• QAD free
• Below age of 40 years
• Physically fit and ability to bend, and carry/load/move heavy bags
