• Title: Nutrition OTP Nurse (4 Position)
• Reporting: Program supervisor
• Duration: 12 Months
• Closing Date: 10th September 2021

Job Purpose/Objective

The Nutrition Nurse will provide Supplementary treatment for actual severe malnutrition. He/She are expected to provide high standard of promoting optimum nutrition for the preventing malnutrition and Working under the guidance and supervision of the Nutrition Officer will be directly responsible for the day to day implementation of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate implementation of activities and prepare weekly movement plan to OTP sites.
• Monitor implementation of OTP and program quality.
• Facilitate essential drugs, supplies and therapeutic products and follow up stock continuously and request supplies earlier.
• Organize daily, weekly and monthly over view and reports of OTP and share with the project officer.
• Ensure children discharged from SC/TFU are transferred to nearby OTP to continue their therapeutic treatment
• Adherence to medical and nutritional treatment protocols and procedures for children and infants in OTP.
• Provide onsite training to HEW and nurses on the Management of SAM without medical complications
• Receive weekly reports from HEW at weekly basis, cross check the completeness and accuracy, and submit to Project Officer
• Mentoring and assist in decision of patients who are at severe risks and need to be transferred to nearby hospital when they become SAM with complications
• Assist CHW in identifying patients who need to be transferred from OTP to SC, patients with failure-to respond to treatment and patients who need to be discharged.
• In charge of OTP quality program implementation and monthly OTP activity should be linkage with OTP discharged
• Responsible for supervising and manage plumy nut for those which SAM cases and ensure availability of required material like MUAC, registration books, Pen, weight scale, thermometer and pumply nut
• Participate in capacity building training like receiving and given on job training during the Nutrition sessions
• Prepare and send weekly and monthly consumption for OTP programme

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• Bachelor Public Health or nutrition with minimum three years working experience with NGOs.
• Two Year Experience in nutrition program and community work.
• Experience in training of volunteers on SAM program.
• Good relations with other people.
• Good capacity to work in a team and flexibility.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good writing and presentation skills
• English fluency (verbal and written) required and local language (preferred)
• Strong report writing and team working skills
