The collapse of the Somalia government in 1991 dragged Somalia into a miserable state
characterized by chronic insecurity, massive displacement and lack of adequate access to basic
human needs such as Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Protection and Food Security and Livelihood. Amid this horrific state young Somali nationals established SORDES which stands for Somali Relief and Development Society is a non-political, not-for-profit, and non-religious Somalia NGO, was established in South-central Somalia
region in June 2006 by a group of concerned Somali intellectuals to respond to increased
suffering, starvation and death of the communities badly affected by the civil conflict and famine
in Somalia through the establishment of community-based rehabilitation and development
projects.

Thus, SORDES has been present in most part of Somalia since 2006 addressing the humanitarian needs of the utmost vulnerable communities.

1. OTP NURSE

OTP nurse Objective.

The main objective of the OTP nurse will be to ensure that there is proper management to children with SAM conditions coupled with medical condition and admitted in the OTP.

Tasks and deliverables for consultancy:

· Organize and make plan of all nursing (health and nutrition) activities of his/her unit (either static or mobile) for patient care according to the guidelines and SORDES Protocols and rules

· Admission of beneficiaries

· Screening of beneficiaries

· Preparation of Nutrition Supplements ( F75 &F100)

· Treatment of OTP Beneficiaries

· Assess the needs of the patients treated by the health centre and make nursing care plan for all patients consulting with colleagues.

· Compile the report of his/her unit taking information from the filled clinical cards

· Ensure completeness and consistency of the information provided in the clinical cards, concerning also diagnosis, condition and treatment provided and will ensure proper maintenance of records

· Co-ordinate with other health services for smooth running of the unit and referral capacity to other health services

· Carry out treatment of the patients as prescribed by EPHS, OTP and SORDES Health and Nutrition Protocols

· Ensure safety and comfort of the patient of the unit

· Report on consumption and needs of supplies and materials

· Check the inventory regularly and keep the stock register up to date

Skills and competences:

· Somali national, able to work in the Badhade district of Lower Juba Region

· Should be conversant with the clan and surrounding political climate.

· Nurse or Nutritionist with 3 years of clinical experience

· Excellent Somali language skills are a requirement, intermediate level of English a plus

· Detail-oriented.
