The Network includes three world-class educational institutions that provide high-potential students with critical access, support, and leadership development: Abaarso School of Science and Technology, Barwaaqo University, and Kaabe Schools.

Job purpose

Work directly with the all members of the Senior Management in Abaarso Network and oversee work sites for both new construction and remodel projects, coordinating site activities and assuring that all disciplines directly involved in the project are in phase with the project goals and objectives, to oversee and provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing groundwork ensuring quality standards are met.Liasebetween engineers, architects, and others working on the project. Prepare and manage estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources.

Job duties and responsibilities

· Plan, schedule, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specification and budget.· Attend coordination and progress meetings; remain based on-site or near construction during the full project period; come to site before start of construction, including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeout.

· Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the construction process, assuring working environment is maintained at acceptable levels, and tools and equipment are in good working condition.

· Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones, monitor progress against established schedules.

· Ensuring schedule is in place set up and sub-building that reflect the project strategy and is sufficient for estimating and subcontract purchasing selection.

· Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.

· Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate.

Position Requirements

Education	Required		Preferred
University education or an equivalent of qualifying experience	X
Having a certificate architectural Design or engineering.			X
Experience		Required		Preferred
At least 3 years working experience in a mission-based organization.	X
Experience in Somaliland, E. Africa, or a similar operating environment.	X
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality	X
Knowledge of jobsite safety practices required	X
Knowledge and Skills	Required		Preferred
Understanding of East Africa context, particularly education sector and fragile settings	X
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English	X
Results-oriented, entrepreneurial; takes initiative and is undeterred by ambiguous situations	X

Fluently spoken and written English	X
Good command of Somali			X
