Shaqodoon is a local NGO founded in 2011 to create innovative and long-lasting solutions to Somalia/Somaliland youth employment challenges. The organization designs deliver and evaluate innovative programs to address some of the local communities’ most urgent challenges in livelihood skill training, education, and health.

Shaqodoon is looking for a Production Company/Individual consultant, who’ll be performing a short-term Videography consultancy work.

Videography Purpose and Objective

1. Produce promotional and recruitment video footage emphasizing on the impact of Hargabits Academy
2. Reporting (10 selected photos and 2 video story collections short with duration of 1.5-2 minutes)

• To Recruit for 2022 batch and showcase the impact of Hargabits Academy and share beneficiaries’ stories

Specific Deliverables for Photographer/Videographer

• Deliver at least 20 photos’ on selected themes, activities partners and footage on at least 3 interviews and context.

Profile of Consultant

The requires professionals in their respective fields whose experience and quality of work demonstrably meet the high Profile of Consultant

The requires professionals in their respective fields whose experience and quality of work demonstrably meet the highest international standards. They must have an excellent track record along with

experience of working in the social development sector, youth entrepreneurship, innovation and preferably in emergency settings. The proposed professional is expected to have high‐quality industry standard equipment in the fields of photography as well as the following:

• Graduate degree in communication, filming or journalism or 3-5 years’ experience in videography and communication in lieu of degree.

o  Experience in high – resolution digital photography and a portfolio to proof should be submitted

Technical requirements

• High quality cameras not less than 720 pixels. Works with Premiere Pro editing software and equipment.

Ability to broadcast full quality HD video with quality sound recording lapel mic to be used for interviews. Adequate lighting set if necessary.

• We expected all raw footage to be submitted to Shaqodoon upon completion of assignment.
  • All products must be in line with Shaqodoon brand guidelines.
• Copyright solely belongs to Shaqodoon; therefore, all content produced will be the property of Shaqodoon.

Ethical requirements and protocols

Taking photos/video is not an issue in Somaliland, however precaution and an informed consent must be acquired from person before engaging.

• We don’t accept images that depict violence or armed people carrying/ or will send a negative message in the photo or videos. We respect culture and religion when documenting people’s stories.
• We inquire about how others are impacted by our images/videos, examining the actual results of our best intentions. Therefore, we refrain from making an image if asked not to.
• All videos should follow shaqodoon’s child safeguarding and protection policies.
