Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Junıor Engineer / Junior Architect

Location: Mogadishu, Somalia

DATE: 19^th Oct, 2021

STATUS: Full Time

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION/MISSION

The ideal candidate will oversee the entire Design and construction project life cycle. You will manage personnel involved at different stages of the project and showcase strong design and technical abilities.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The purpose of the Junior Engineer/Architect position is to provide the Office and on-site supervision to PRIME Engineering.

Under supervision of Senior Engineer and Project Manager,

the Junior Engineer/Architect should have the following Skills:

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES % OF TIME

Design Activities and Program Implementation

Managing projects from concept through delivery.

Designing and drafting project blueprints.

Completed site appraisals before and after construction.

Familiarity with AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, SketchUP, Lumion Structural Analysis Applications like (STAAD Pro, ETAPS,etc) and Photoshop to complete designs,

3D Modeling, renderings and specification details.

Preparing full structural analysis, structural detailing and design

Preparing detailed BOQ of every project.

Technical oversight

• Ensure quality construction of all the Projects and the sustainable processes that are put in place.

• Identify gaps in the infrastructure in the project sites and recommend for appropriate corrective

actions and follow up on functionality.

• Assist the Construction team in surveys, assessments, designs and supervise construction projects

and other area where required.

• Review and validate as-built drawings/BOQs for all planned constructions and rehabilitations.

• Take lead in timely preparation and submission of project progress reports

• Participate in project beneficiary characterization and mapping.

• Supervise the implementation of the entire infrastructure and prepare completion certificates

• Carry out Surveys, assessments, make designs and supervise construction Projects and other area where required.
• Prepare as-built drawings for all constructed assets.
Program staff management
• Ensure punctuality and strict adherence to Firm’s laid down work ethics.
• Mid-term and end of year staff appraisal.	10%
• Any other duties assigned by his/her supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or similar field

Must be a highly capable user of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Conversant with computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and other software such us – ArchiCAD,

AutoCAD SketchUP, Lumion, Structural Analysis Applications like (STAAD Pro, ETAPS,etc) and Photoshop to prepare project documents.

Fluency in spoken and written English is essential; an additional language would be an advantage
