DEPARTMENT: Operations		BASE LOCATION: Hargeisa
GRADE: A Step 1		CONTRACT LENGTH: Seven months (With Extension)
REPORT TO: Admin & Liaison Officer		LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Admin and Operation Officer

JOB SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Admin and operations Officer, security specifically is responsible to provide effective security services to Islamic Relief Worldwide, Somaliland Hargeisa Office. In order of looking in the day to day work of the security must be able to effectively communicate Islamic Relief Somaliland purpose and demonstrate quality of commitment and integrity that that serves as an example to others

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Security guard will provide security services to Islamic Relief staff and compounds in Somaliland Hargeisa Office, that must be able to effectively communicate in the colleagues and act as role model to others

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

-Inspect and patrol premises regularly and report any suspicious things inside and outside Islamic Relief compounds -Monitor Islamic Relief office entrances and do proper checkups.

-Authorize entrance of people and vehicles inside Islamic Relief compounds.

-Report any suspicious behaviors, happening inside and outside Islamic Relief compounds.

-Secure all exits, doors and windows and ensure they are with security standards.

-To maintain a visitor’s book with details of the names, purpose of visit, and entry and exit times of each and every individual who enters the building

-Check the ID of visitors and log them into the visitor’s book; Examine the contents of any bags, boxes or other items carried by visitors through detectors

-Ensure that visitors are met by the person whom they are visiting, when visitors depart ensure that their departure is logged in the visitor’s book;

-Prevent the entry of unauthorized people and prohibited articles into Islamic Relief compounds.

-Conduct routine checks inside the buildings during on duty and report anything you find in appropriate.

-Check each and every office and make sure that all the doors and windows are locked, and all the lights/electric equipment are switched off, fire extinguishers, and alarm systems.

-Report all the suspicious acts happening in the premises to the security focal point

-Constantly inspect and monitor all the security devices and equipment and to ensure that they are not tampered with

-Ensure that no vehicles are parked in front of the office. If you cannot identify the Security Guard, find him. If you cannot find him alert your supervisor and the security focal person or Head of office immediately.

-To direct vehicles in and around the building and to make sure that all the vehicles are safe, while inside the premises.

-Open the main gate for entry and exit of IRW vehicles and inspect properly with using detectors before entrance -To answer the emergency alarms with immediate effect, and to inform the supervisor and fire department right away in case of fire.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate in Secondary school, have experience in INGO/UN security standards in the office or another related Field.

-An updated CV; and an application letter

-A-Academic Qualifications (certificates/Transcripts)

-Copy of your National ID card or passport

-Contact information for three work-related referees

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

–High school certificate, diploma or any other related certificate.

-At least two years of experience of NGOs or any other private companies. INGOs experience will be value added.

-Speak Somali language fluently, English speaking person will be extra value added.
