- Job Purpose and Summary
Reporting to the Head of Corporate, SME and Retail, the Manager, Marketing, Product Development and Commercialization is directly accountable for driving the design, alignment, management and delivery of the Bank’s Marketing, Product Development and Commercialization strategies in a manner that drives growth, sustenance and fulfilment of the brand promise, profitability, brand strength and market share.
- Main Responsibilities and Duties

| Strategy | · Manage and support the development and implementation of the Marketplace strategy.· Develop brand strategies for all key products and guide team execution to deliver business objectives.
· Lead the development and implementation of the bank product development and commercialization strategy including pricing to expand market share and Return on Investment. · Develop annual plans and engage cross functional teams in the development & implementation of the plans.

| Business Development | · Manage business development activities.· Develop a business plan to grow the marketplace business through effective distribution channels.
· Profit and Loss responsibility for the execution of approved plan to drive growth and development of the Marketplace. · Ensure profitability of products and services, · Provide, manage, and maintain comprehensive business status reporting with robust key performance / risk indicators and tracking thereof. · Execute governance & approval mandates as a member of the Bank’s Marketing and Product Development Management Committee · Effective management of the Marketing Budget allocated to Business Marketing and Product Development to ensure low levels of carry forward to reduce impact to annual planning. |
| Marketing | · Obtain research, feasibility, market, and perception information to infuse customer, stakeholder and public insights into the design and sustenance of Bank’s brands and customer value propositions.· Develop, organize, and execute the product’s roadmap according to defined customer segments and strategy objectives.
· Prepare and implement marketing, strategies, and plans. · Prepare and manage the Marketplace budget, KPIs, targets and other objectives. · Champion customer-experience and brand promise delivery in cooperation with business teams. · Manage marketing suppliers, media, public relations, and communications agencies. · In charge of brand evaluation and enforcement · Gather and distil customer and market insights, monitor market trends, and feedback and share proposals on the same to the management team in a timely manner. · Monitor competitor activity and understand trends in the market. · Setting and regularly review pricing policies across the Marketplace product suite. · Overseeing the liaison with external vendors to follow up on deliverables, handle issues and escalate as required. · Actively participate in projects with other partners, training and workshops, marketing events and campaigns.

| Product development and Commercialization | · Develop products through market research, and combining the findings with general requirements, specifications, timelines, pricing and planning to complete development and market strategies.· Co-create and deliver brand and customer value propositions (includes products, services, innovations) whilst leading go-to-market strategies in cooperation with the Business Functions in a manner that onboards, grows, and retains customers, market share, brand strength and brand promise fulfillment.
· Constantly adapt to the evolution of the market, detecting and studying the potential opportunities to create a new product and/or ensure the adaptation of current products. · Work with the marketing team and other stakeholders to develop clear product G0 to Market and Commercialization strategy for new and revamped products. · Conduct/ attend customer presentations with sales teams, particularly for complex customer requirements for need analysis. · Analyze product capabilities of competitors and develop more responsive product offerings. · Support the sales team by developing solutions for multi-product deals and creating pricing options for proposals to ensure profitability levels are maintained. · Responsible for training and sensitization of staff on products and services. |
| People Management | · Offer strategic, direction and pace to the Marketing, Product Development and Commercialization team.· Lead and manage the Marketing, Function’s businesses, and staff teams.
· Train, Coach, mentor and develop a high performing team with clear responsibilities and accountabilities. · Providing support and assistance to individual team members. Assist in training, staff development, performance reviews and disciplinary actions. |
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business, Banking or related fields.
- A professional qualification in marketing such as CIM or a master’s degree MBA, MSc Marketing will be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years’ experience in marketing.

- Ability to proactively monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action applicable.
- Networking skills to effectively leverage on relationships that will enhance customer acquisition and retention.
- Proactive, confident, energetic, and able to work under pressure with a positive attitude and use good organization skills, and strong leadership skills.
- Ability to influence decisions and gain consensus across different channels and lines of business, particularly in the case of competing interests and priorities.
- Excellent people and management skills to interact with customers, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.
