Term of Reference of National WASH in Health Situation data Analysis
Background
- WASH service in Healthcare facilities is very important for the safety and health status to all the people who visit the health center, the staff working in the health center and the community as well. The most important think that can be strengthened to prioritize the WASH services in the health centers is to improve WASH services in Healthcare facilities. In Somalia, there is no information about the level of WASH in health centers, so the Ministry of Health specially WASH and Environmental Health section has conducted a survey on the sanitation of health centers, so it is recommended to employ an expert to analyse the collected data.
Purpose and objectives:
- The purpose of this consultancy is to produce a data set for National WASH in Health Situation data Analysis, to be used as evidence for decision-making and further planning.
The objective is to collect, enter and perform data analysis of National WASH in Health Situation data Analysis data within a determined time frame.
Consultant tasks:
Through a consultative and participatory process, the consultant will work with the WASH and Environmental Health Section team from the Ministry of Health and Human Services to perform the following activities:
- Data cleaning and data analysis: Study consultant should clean all the data and he/she should analyze the data by Performing data entry and verification by using Data set for data entry and EXEL or SPSS syntax for data management and analysis. The data entry screens and the EXEL or SPSS syntax will be provided by consultant.
- Ensure data quality is in place through the use of the provided EXEL or SPSS syntax to clean the data once it has been imported into EXEL or SPSS from data set.
- Draft final analysis report: Study consultant will prepare final draft survey report and submitted to WASH and Environmental Health Section of FMOH after 7 days of analysed data.
- Providing analysis report presentation – Study consultant will present finding of the data that have been analysed to FMOH, Healthcare managers and WASH partners.
Output
- A summary narrative report.
- A power point presentation (to be presented to the project stakeholders)
- Any additional deliverables that are part of the data analysed.
Timing and reporting
This consultancy will be for a minimum of 7 days and the period of performance will be from 13th September to 20 September 2022.
Skills and Qualifications
Skills and qualification:
- Five years’ experience as a data analyst preferably with a degree in a relevant field.
- Three years’ experience in conducting health research
- Familiarity with family WASH and Environmental Health Section is preferable.
- Experience in data collection, entry, management and analysis for quantitative surveys on WASH and Environmental Health in Somalia.
- Ability to write a concise and well-written analytical research report on the results of the survey in English.
Remuneration
- Proposals are invited based on these Terms of Reference.
- The payments will be made upon successful completion of the deliverables and submission of the final report one instalments.
Annexes
Attach any information that will closely inform the development of proposals in response to the
TORs, such as:
- Project documentation
- Details of any monitoring or results frameworks that have direct relevance to the study
- Example Guidance Notes or Concept Notes that have been drafted by the candidate
- Previous examples of research and M&E report writing
- Company/NGO approved certificate.
How to apply
Qualified national consultants should be sending their technical and financial proposals detailing his/her understanding of ToR and methodology that will be used to undertake the task including profiles of similar tasks carried out in the last years.
