Duties & Responsibilities:

• Motivate all ICPs to learn and function in a professional manner;
• Restock Major Trauma Kits (MTKs) and Minor Trauma Kits during the stand down between work cycles;
• Record and maintain monthly illness data for staff, notifying senior staff of any noticeable trends;
• Be available to provide medical advice and answer medical related questions from HALO staff when required;
• Carry out camp visits to ensure acceptable levels of hygiene are maintained in both remote camps and minefields (i.e. in toilets, tents, kitchen, stores);
• Oversee CASEVAC exercises by each operational team each work cycle to ensure all medical personnel maintain HALO required standards and are trained on any changes to standardized techniques;
• Planrealistic CASEVAC scenarios, whichcovera wide range ofinjuries andother conditions, so that all aspects ofparamedictrainingaretested regularlyduring exercises;
• Conduct refresher training in accordance with the needs of ICPs and keep organized records of the training, as well as all CASEVACS exercises;
• Liaise with hospital staff following the evacuation of sick staff to the hospital to ensure HALO staff receive adequate care and treatment;
• Provide first aid to any HALO staff in the compound during working hours;
• Ensure that all drugs and equipment designated for HALO teams are in date and ready for use;
• Transfer to/receive all medical equipment (MIK, MTK MK and stretcher) to/from ICPs on deployment and recovery days;
• Maintain organized, clean and tidy medical stores. Conduct regular store checks of medical supplies in programme stores, keeping an inventory of quantities of drugs or materials used;
• Ensuremedical stores maintain a minimum medical stock level and that stockis replaced in a timely manner in order to maintainareliable supply of medical items to HALO teams;
• Adhere to all HALO Staff policies, including safeguarding practices and Code of Conduct.
• Adhere to all relevant HALO standard operating procedures on finance and logistics during the course of work in the medical department.
