| Overview of position | CTG is looking for qualified staff as mentioned below in the TOR. |
| Role objectives | Responsible for the support & monitoring of telecommunications systems deployed by the UN in the field & HQ.
Generate reports. Assist in the analysis, definition, specification & documentation of telecommunications solutions, policies, standards & guidelines. Generate & revise network diagrams & network documentation. Install, configure, maintain & support equipment & systems providing ICT services. Troubleshoot connectivity & infrastructure problems. Monitor & analyse the performance of ICT services. Provide information on availability of support packs, relevant firmware updates. Manage cabling & infrastructure projects. Liaise with the UN if permits or authorization are required from the government or local authority. Provide advice to implementing partners of the UN. Maintain asset records. Assist in the decommissioning of obsolete equipment as required by the UN regulations.

| Key competencies | Minimal 5 year experience in installing, configuring and managing telecommunications equipment in large & complex environment.
Experience in managing & monitoring VSAT, LAN & WAN voice & data infrastructure including TCP / IP networks, VPN, firewalls, switches, routers & network analysis tools. Experience with server deployment, DHCP, DNS & other LAN services. Proven ICT project management experience with a methodology such as PMP, PRINCE2, etc. Knowledge of the ITIL framework. Experience in customer services & the ability to provide a professional interface with the user community. Good interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Proven ability to work under pressure. Industry recognized certifications are an asset. |
