The bank’s primary markets are in Somalia and Somaliland with its headquarters in Hargeisa, Somaliland. The bank is desirous to set up a fully-fledged internal audit department, which will ensure the bank’s internal controls risk management and governance processes are operating effectively.

Summary of the role	• Ensuring that all the operational activities of the bank are operating under Sharia Principles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for ensuring all the transactions, activities, services and investment are operating under Sharia Compliance/ Fatwa issued By sharia Board from time to time.

· Performing Monthly sharia Audit/ Reviewing for all Documents, files, and transactions.

· Providing required Reports to Shariah department for quarterly basis.

· Implementing the relevant of Islamic Banking initiatives in line with the Islamic Banking strategy.

· Responsible for ensuring Shariah Compliance in day-to-day business activities and documentation of DBI.

· Reviewing and reporting all the products of the bank and sharing with the Shadah Supervisory Board.

· Reviewing financing files and ensuring that transactions are sharia compliant.

· Carry out periodically audit on all financing instruments done by the division.

· Work in hand with IT Department to ensure execution of products to avoid any potential Shari anon-compliant sensitivity elements.

· Training the Bank employees on basic principles to promote their
jurisprudence awareness in relation to the Bank transactions.

· Providing consultations regarding Bank operations.

· Identify^, and assess the customers’ requirements for Islamic finance
products and provide guidance in selection of the right product.

· Ensuring Adherence of the bank regarding sharia compliance, under the Sharia Board Approvals.

EXPERIENCE	· At least lyear Shariah Compliance position
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION	· Bachelor’s degree in any Sharia Studies (Must). · Islamic Finance (Fiqul Mu’ amalat) / CSAA or CIB (Certified Sharia Audit & advisor/ Certified Islamic Banker) will be added advantage.
Key skills	· Knowledge of Shariah Compliant Financial Products will be a plus · Good interpersonal & communication skills · Good at Microsoft Office · Knowledge Of Banking Products, MS Office, Coordination Skills
