Zamzam Foundation is a humanitarian and development charity founded in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1992 to serve the most vulnerable members of society at a time of severe crisis

A non-governmental and not-for profit organization, Zamzam established itself in the heart of the humanitarian emergency that followed the outbreak of the civil war in Somalia in 1991. Since then, we have grown to become the largest national humanitarian and development organization in Somalia with nearly three decades of experience providing relief and support services to those most affected by the joint forces of war and famine.

Position: Content Writer and Digital Marketing

Contract Length: 12 months

Location: Mogadishu

A digital content writer is responsible of writing, developing, editing, researching organizing facts and publishing as well as improving ZamZam Foundation website with engaging blogs, videos, email marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, social media posts, info graphics, whitepapers, and more. Create messaging, marketing materials, and various forms of digital online for ZamZam Foundation.

Job Responsibilities

1. Drafting and publishing the Foundation’s news and activities on the website and following it up.
2. Writing scripts for humanitarian stories, success stories, and program activities.
3. Writing text content for social media platforms (tweets, posts).
4. Writing scripts and scenarios for all kinds of videos and motion graphics.
5. Designing digital publications, annual reports, leaflet, cards, dedications, and more.
6. Translation, editing, formatting, and checking texts for spelling and grammar.
7. Analyzing accounts on social media platforms and funded campaigns, and reporting on them.
8. Marketing the Foundation and ensuring that the required content reaches the target audience and improving the image of the Foundation.
9. Develop different content types, including email, social media posts, blogs, and white papers on a regular basis.
10. Oversee ZZF’s website, promote our blog and pitch articles to third-party platforms effectively.
11. Work together with different departments in ZZF to create innovative content ideas.
12. Compose product descriptions to promote ZZF products and services.
13. Work on verifying the Foundation’s accounts on social media platforms.
14. Assure all-around consistency for textual styles, pictures, fonts, and tones in the content.
15. Creative Writing to Impact the Target Audience.
16. Sticking to the foundation identity and approved standards in media production operations.
17. Participate in drafting reports for department, administration, and the Foundation
18. Scheduling the required tasks and committing to completing them on the specified dates.
19. Submitting weekly and monthly reports to the line manager.
