Overview of position

To ensure general cleanliness, tidiness, maintenance and functioning of the site, indoors and outdoors.

Provision of caretaker duties, to provide general supervision of the facility and tests of assets, including maintenance of a firing range.

Maintenance team must be based in-country to provide 24-hour services.

Role objectives

All services are in accordance with the International Code of Conduct, Montreux document and any standards which follow therefrom e.g. ASIS PSC1 standards for land based PSCs.

Generator sets – check oil, water, fuel, filters, heaters, controls, and pipework for leaks.  Check condition and tension of charging generator and cooling fan drive belts.  Check and maintain battery system in accordance with OEM’s, instructions.  To run off & on load and check for evidence of noise, vibration or unusual temperature rise To carry out 500 and 1000 hours checks and maintenance in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer Manual (monthly). Test operation of interlocks & simulate mains failure for automatic start-up and load acceptance within stated timeframe Low voltage switchgear; panel board, feeder pillar and motor control. 

Project reporting

Battery operated heat/smoke detectors, fire alarms and sounders – Fully test (detection and sounder) 25% of all system devices. Inspect & Test Battery Operation, Alarm & Ancillary Functions, Check audibility, General Inspection. (Such that 100% are fully tested over a period of 12 months).

Emergency lighting – test batteries’ operation Test the functionality of all emergency lighting units Repair failures.

Shower heads – inspect, remove, dismantle, descale, clean and disinfect shower heads and hoses or replace.

Key competencies

Experience Required

A Maintenance Manager (caretaker) with prior relevant experience including a minimum of 2 years’ caretaker experience to ensure general supervision of the facility.

Team management

Location: Maintenance Team to be based in the Mogadishu International Airfield area.
