DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES

Position overview

The Deputy Director of Health Services is a key leadership role in the management and coordination of healthcare services delivery. The holders of this position will work closely with the Director of healthcare services to ensure the delivery of healthcare services that are patient centered, ensure efficient operations, and in strategic planning.

Reporting

The Deputy Director of Health Services will be in charge of all section heads and will report directly to the Director of Health Services.

Responsibilities

• Clinical oversight: Help in overseeing the clinical services provided by the various departments, ensuring adherence to quality standards, best practices and patient safety protocol.
• Strategic planning: Participate in the developing and implementing health services strategic plans, identifying midterm and long-term goals and strategic objectives.
• Resource management: Work with departmental heads to allocate medical staff, medical equipment and medical supplies.
• Quality control: Oversee the implementation of medical statutory requirements, quality standards and patient safety protocols.
• Patient experience: Foster a patient centered approach by enhancing patient satisfaction, addressing concerns and improving healthcare services delivery.
• Medical staff management: Aid in recruiting, training and supervising of medical staff and ensure a safe and healthy working environment in the hospital.
• Medical staff development: Support the professional growth and development of medical staff through training, mentorship and performance evaluation.
• Emergency preparedness: Aid in preparing and implementing emergency response plans and protocols as well as participate in training and drills to ensure readiness for different healthcare emergencies.
• Health program development: Participate in designing, developing and implementing of healthcare programs and initiatives as well as identify healthcare needs in the community and devise interventions to address them.
• Regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards and accreditation requirements.
• Community engagement: Work with the community (CHEWs, CHVs) to understand the healthcare needs in the community and develop interventions to address them.
• Interdepartmental collaboration: Promote collaboration among different healthcare sections and departments to promote communication and smooth health care services delivery as well as address interdepartmental problems and conflicts when they arise.
• Data analysis: Use data to identify disease trends, and service delivery, measure KPIs and make right decisions to optimize healthcare services delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

A master’s degree is in healthcare management, business administration and any related field.

A bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, Clinical Medicine and

Nursing.

A minimum of 5 years experience in healthcare management.

Preferably has worked in the Hospital and understanding the context surrounding on it.

Proficiency in English and Turkish Languages

Good understanding of healthcare regulations, quality standards and best practices.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills

Proficiency in data analysis and utilization for healthcare improvement. Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions.
