Functional Responsibilities
Purpose and Scope of Assignment
The Operations Senior Associate reports to the Project Manager, ATMIS Support. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Operations Specialist (Data) with collecting and collating information about IED and other explosive incidents;
- Support in monitoring the open source information feeds to provide alerts on relevant incidents to the Operations Specialist, Operations Officer and Project Manager;
- Researching explosive hazard threats and submit findings to the Operations Team for review;
- Support in the preparation of powerpoint presentations to present fact findings, information and incident threads for the ATMIS Team
- Drafting and contributing to analytical reports on explosive hazard threats;
- Providing overall admin support to the explosive hazard analysis team in the production of threat analysis;
- Documenting and recording all IED incident reports and maintaining SmartSheet on incidents
- Supporting the compilation of IED weekly/monthly statistics, presentations and reports;
- Providing general administrative assistance while managing the day to day running of the office to ensure smooth, effective and efficient operation;
- Maintaining spreadsheets, database files, and tables ensuring accuracy of information;
- Support in planning of and implementation of IED Working Group/Workshop events;
- Draft ATMIS Support Project’s periodical regular and ad hoc reports; and
- Performing other tasks and duties as requested by the Project Manager.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
- A First Level University degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) with a minimum of three years of relevant experience; OR
- High School (Secondary or equivalent) with seven years of relevant experience is required.
Experience
- Relevant experience is defined as experience in programme management, project management, conducting research and analysis, operations support, administration or business administration.
- Within relevant experience a minimum of one year experience working in an international organization is required;
- A general understanding of Mine Action is desired;
- A proven record in administrative duties and organizational expertise desired;
- Computer literacy, with solid experience of using Microsoft Office suite required.
Language
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading and writting) is required;
- Fluency in Somali (speaking, reading and writting) is required.
