MUDRO is a non-profit humanitarian organization that helps empower vulnerable communities in crisis. They work to transform crises into opportunities for self-reliance through partnerships with local communities. MUDRO operates emergency response programs in areas like WASH, nutrition, health, shelter, protection, and food security. They also assist internally displaced women and girls by providing access to safe spaces and case management.
We are currently looking for a passionate Nutrition Officer to lead the implementation of nutrition activities across our program in Dinsoor and surrounding field locations. This role is integral to our mission, working closely with the Nutrition Project Manager, technical staff, operations team, and local stakeholders to enhance nutrition outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
1. Nutrition Program Implementation
-
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of nutrition activities in target communities.

Ensure the quality delivery of services, including therapeutic and supplementary feeding programs.

Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and provide technical support to staff.
2. Community Engagement and Education
-
Design and deliver impactful nutrition awareness sessions focusing on infant and young child feeding (IYCF), maternal nutrition, and hygiene.

Train and supervise community health workers and volunteers on nutrition-related topics.
3. Assessment and Monitoring

Conduct nutrition assessments (SMART, MUAC, etc.) and surveys to identify needs and evaluate program impact.

Monitor nutrition indicators and ensure timely reporting in line with donor and MUDRO requirements.
4. Coordination and Reporting

Collaborate with health and nutrition staff to enhance teamwork and improve service delivery.

Represent MUDRO in nutrition cluster and technical working group meetings.

Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to proposal development and donor reporting.
Experience and Qualifications

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing nutrition programs in humanitarian or development settings.

Familiarity: Knowledge of national and global nutrition protocols and guidelines (e.g., IMAM, IYCF, CMAM).

Data Proficiency: Experience with data collection tools, reporting formats, and donor requirements.

Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Somali is an advantage.
