Background

Islamic Relief Somalia (IRS) has been operating in Somalia since 2006 and has responded to conflict and drought affected people through provision of life saving assistance. Through our projects, IR has continuously been providing safe drinking water, improving hygienic sanitation facilities, increasing hygiene awareness, particularly to ones living in IDP camps; empowering the urban poor and distressed working children, engaging in conflict management and mitigation and strengthening of community cohesiveness and co-existence.

Position background

HR/Logistics intern will work under the direct hierarchical supervision and reports of the HR/Logistics Assistant. For all aspects related to arranging personal files, office arrangement, Collect Quotations and procurement documentsfor analysis, organize office utilities and collecting attendance list, staff toil and annual leave records. S/he will report to the HR/Log Assistant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist HR officer on updating personal files
  • Organize staff personal files.
  • Assist HR officer on conducting staff meetings
  • Facilitationof contract signature from the CD and the respected employees
  • Collecting attendance list from admin department.
  • Arrange written and oral interview for recruitment process.
  • Prepare and Monitor staff annual and Toil leaves.
  • Collect Quotations from suppliers
  • Prepare procurement documents for analysis
  • Ensure accuracy of all invoices and receipts.
  • Organize files both manually and electronically
  • Collect tender applications.
  • To demonstrate and follow IR Values in day to day operation and ensure to work in the line of HR protocols
  • To be responsible to show excellent discipline and team work during the day to day business
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the HR/Logistic officer.

Qualifications, Experience and skills

  • Degree or diploma on HRM, Logistics, Business administration, public administration and any other related qualifications,
  • Must be a computer literate especially in MS Word and Excel.
  • A professional with high personal integrity and commitment.
  • An individual that can cope work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Communication skills, committed to learn and implement
