AVORD is a non-profit organization operating in Somalia to deliver both emergency relief and long-term development programs. Since inception, AVORD has implemented numerous projects that have contributed to saving the lives of communities in humanitarian emergencies while fostering livelihood opportunities and sustainable income sources.
AVORD is currently seeking dynamic, mission-oriented and qualified Assistant CCCM Officer to support its growing portfolio of programs.The position will be based in Xudur with frequent travel to other areas of the country as needed.
JOB OBJECTIVES
In collaboration with the program team, the Assistant CCCM Officer will contribute to project implementation, quality assurance, people management, monitoring of project activities and reporting.The incumbent will also be expected to meet and exceed the organization’s performance and delivery goals.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the programmes coordinator of AVORD, the Assistant CCCM Officer will assume the following roles and responsibilities:
Assist AVORD CCCM Officers in conducting periodic service mapping, site safety audits and other camp coordination and management tasks.
Attend to and process information sharing needs received from community leaders and other stakeholders.
Assist in preparing service monitoring reports and disseminating the finding to community representatives and the residents of the camp.
Promote the camp population’s self-reliance and ownership of decision-making processes through identifying strategies and project-cycle stages where camp community should be involved.
Assist in capacity building activities of community representatives in the camp.
Contribute with coordinating adequate reporting and effective information sharing including disaggregating data by age and gender.
Assist in ensuring that infrastructural improvement, repair and rehabilitation of camp infrastructure aimed at improving safety and protection of IDPs within the IDP camps are made according to relevant standards and guidelines.
Attend and facilitate meetings with stakeholders, such as local authorities, community leaders and humanitarian agencies.
Under close supervision, draft specific sections or components of documents for program development and reporting processes.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:
A bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Project Planning and Management, or a related Social Science degree is required.
Minimum of two years of relevant project experience; Technical specific knowledge from the humanitarian sector.
Demonstrated experience in problem analysis and program design.
A critical understanding of and deep commitment to social justice and human rights.
Team oriented with strong collaborative relations across the organization, in both the program and program support departments.
Good leadership and negotiating skills
