Who we are looking for?:

Our company is searching for a motivated and experienced Engineer to lead the NOC team at HQ. Your responsibilities will include ensuring resolution of any problem by maintaining a database of user problems and resolution in addition to troubleshooting and configuration of switches together with supervision and training of the NOC team.

 

To qualify for the role, the ideal candidate will have to be a proven telecom architect with strong and extensive experience in Billing, Provisioning, order management & charging systems preferably in the telecommunication industry, with excellent knowledge of the latest industry trends and techniques. In addition to being an excellent communicator (written and verbal), you will also demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Install and configure systems, servers and staff personal computers.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
  • Provide Tier DI/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

Requirements  (Person Specifications):

  • Msc Degree in Telecommunications engineering will be an added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Science, preferably in Programing/Software engineering.
  • Handled complex networking and telecommunications systems for clients
  • Managed hardware design and implementation for data communication functions
  • Designed, install, and troubleshot network infrastructure for various networking platforms
  • Worked closely with the project management team on a regular basis
  • Communicated with clients through emails and phone for networking requirements
  • Assisted in planning and designing Enterprise’s strategic infrastructure
  • Strong background in Cisco route/switch (design and implementation
  • Strong background in Cisco ESA (Email Security)
  • Deploy all network security measures and attack prevention methods and ensure the security of the network
  • Post-sales experience in the Federal Government sector is highly desired
  • Strong knowledge of overall security industry trends and customer security compliance requirements
  • Cisco Certifications: CCIE, CCNP ISP, CCNP Security and or other relevant certifications is highly desired.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, Spanning-tree, Metro, Ipv6, and MPLS.
  • Comprehensive OSPF and BGP implementation.
  • Human Resources, Leadership and Supervisory Skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
