The Ministry of Internal Security (MOIS) is ultimately aiming to achieve its vision of making Galmudug State a safer and better place for all the citizens where peace, progress, and prosperity can be in horizon in the near future to contribute to national security, durable stability and complete disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of the clan militias.
The Ministry of Internal Security is to expand the capacity of implementation for Security operations that matter for people in need in the state. It is also committed to contribute to economic development by bringing about sustainable, reliable peace and security and stability throughout the region.
Doing this, therefore the Ministry has to deploy in knowledgeable experts to help it deliver its mandate to the citizens.
Job Summary
We are looking for technically skilled candidates with excellent interpersonal skills for the Technical and programme Support expertise.
Do you have technical expertise on programming packages: proposal writing, reporting writing and taking and developing minutes of meeting? Are you willing to provide multi-propose technical supports to all staff in different sectors within the Ministry departments on technical and procedural aspects? In this role, as Technical and programme
Support Officer, you will ensure timely and efficient programing contribution, administration, procurement, maintenance and repair and inspection for equipment .
Roles and Responsibilities
- Providing support in the form of procedural documentation and IT trouble shooting as it turns out and managing multiple cases at one time
- Technical Support Officers be in charge of the provision of technical expertise on the Inspection of Equipment (software and hardware) familiarization with the Inspection Equipment
- Testing and evaluating new technologies. Moreover, Technical Support Officers need to talk to closely work with all the departmental staff, as well as create written documentation, requiring excellent written and verbal communication.
- Provide Technical Support and trouble shoot technical issues,
- provide timely feedback from the designated assignments,
- support the roll-out of programming and administration obligation, among other duties.
- Talking clients through a series of actions to resolve a problem following up with clients to ensure the problem is resolved.
- The Technical officers will also handle the Procurement Cell of the Logistics Section of the Operations and Administration Branch and assist the Head of the Logistics Section in leading the section.
- Provide assistance and support to Technical implementing partner, budget preparation, revisions and work planning if requested by Senior people.
- Be in charge of the provision of technical expertise on programming and administrative day to day activities actross the mininstraial departments.
handle the process of the OPCW Member States’ familiarization with the Inspection Equipment
- handle the Procurement Cell of the Logistics Section of the Operations and Administration Branch and assist the Head of the Logistics Section in leading the section
- Reporting
Technical and programme support officers will repost to the director general with constant consultation with the executive assistant to the minister and the senior Policy advisor.
- Recruitment Qualifications and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the field of
communication, Public or International Relations. A Master’s a degree is an advantage.
Experience:
- At least five years at a senior level in the in media and public relations role; Experience in and knowledge of the security sector is a distinct advantage.
- An understanding of international engagements in Somalia.
- Experience of producing verbal and written communication.
- A full understanding of Somali culture and political complexities, including Somalia’s Federalism model.
- A good knowledge and understanding of how donor support works and the reporting requirements.
- Previous experience of working in Somalia would be an asset.
