Islamic Studies Secondary Teacher – Hargeisa, Somaliland

Amaano Boarding and Day school is hiring highly experienced fervent and dependable Islamic studies  Teacher secondary school  and handling Boarding students whole the day. Position reports directly to the Principal, but works in conjunction with the entire Islamic Studies Department, which includes Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies.

General Description:

• Teaching students to read Quran with proper Tajweed
• Developing a positive relationship with the students within the Islamic guidelines
• Evaluate each student and create teaching strategies based on the individual’s pace
• Tracking progress of each child and maintaining records.
• Must be able to teach all ages (secondary school)

Required knowledge and abilities

• Organizes integrated Islamic studies learning approaches
•  Designs and implement professional records as required.
• Produces context based  Islamic studies   learning resources
• Facilities  learner centered teaching  approaches and techniques
• Set  standardized Examinations
• Assists  children who need special Islamic improvement
• Evaluates children’s performance and progress

Islamic Teacher Responsibilities:

• Planning and presenting lessons to facilitate students’ understanding and application of Islamic studies concepts.
• Preparing and distributing learning material such as notes, assignments, and quizzes.
• Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons.
• Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning.
• Grading assignments and quizzes in a timely manner.
• Invigilating quizzes and final examinations.
• Documenting and reporting on students’ progress.
• Attending meetings with parents and staff.

 Qualifications and requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies/ sharia or equivalenta specialization in Islamic studies from recognized university
• 4-5 years of experience as Secondary  Level   teacher from ( Form ones to four)
•  Must have knowledge of tajweed and be able to teach the students.
•  Demonstrate the ability to teach basic Islamic curriculum.
•  Must be proficient in English language.
•  Classroom instructional experience is preferable.
• Demonstrates a sincere desire to aide all students.
• Good health, high moral character, and good attendance record
• Proven experience as an Islamic studies Teacher.
• A thorough understanding of best practices in teaching.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized, flexible disposition.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Experience teaching in a classroom environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with all staff and colleagues
• Flexibility and high adaptation skills to work successfully in an unpredictable school setting
• Organization and communication skills
• Excellent both in Arabic and English (Written and Spoken)

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree
