Position: Admin and Academic Registrar

Currently active programs include; Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery(MBBS), Bachelor of Midwifery Sciences, Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSc. NS), Bachelor of Clinical Medicine and Community Health (BSc. CMCH), Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BSc. ML) and Bachelor of Human Nutrition and Dietetic (BSc. HND).

GSU is looking for a dedicated administration and registrar officer who can demonstrate high level of commitment and professionalism.

Purpose of the Post.

The admin/academic registrar will lead overall administration and registrar office activities including

processing registration requests, schedules classes and maintains class lists, enforces the rules for entering or leaving classes, and keeps a permanent record of grades and marks.

Specific duties and responsibilities.

  • Regularly supervise administrative staff such as secretaries, cleaners, guards on day-today- activities.
  • Make sure appropriate filing system is followed and records of all relevant documents are kept well and secure.
  • Ensure appropriate and easy classification, tracking and retrieval of recorded documents at real times
  • Build and maintain effective and cooperative relationship and coordination with relevant external entities including government institutions, international and local NGOs, other education institutions, GSU partner institutions, contractors etc…
  • Ensure and maintain positive and ethical relationship with students, parents and staff o Ensure all GSU rules and regulations are followed in the most strict way possible

o  Build and maintain constructive and lawful cooperation with other departments within GSU

o Assist the Quality Assurance teams and tasks in conducting assessments and participate in the preparation of the annual GSU Self-Assessment Report and other reports demanded by other External Quality Assurance bodies.

o  Prepare regular and ad-hoc admin reports

o Ensure registration and coding of all GSU items in the campus and make sure proper and regular supervision and timely maintenance of all the materials and assets.

o  Willing to do other tasks if necessary

Education and experience

  • A. in business administration, Human Resources Management, Information technology, statistics, or other related social sciences.
  • At least one year practical experience working as Admin or Registrar in a recognized higher education institution
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power point and Access)

o  Proactive with good conflict management skills
