The Norwegian Refugee Council

(NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, and emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.

This recruitment is positioned within the Building Resilient Communities in Somalia (BRCiS), which is a NGO Consortium of national and international organizations whose objective is to support and guide vulnerable communities in Somalia in building their resilience capacities, in their own ways. The Consortium was created in 2013 and is implementing projects funded by three different donors, in more than ten regions of Somalia. The Consortium consists of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) (lead agency), Concern Worldwide (CWW), Save the Children (SCI), International Rescue Committee (IRC), Action Against Hunger (ACF) and CESVI implements the Building Resilient Communities in Somalia (BRCiS) programme. Consortium members have long-standing field presence and operational experience in different parts of Somalia, implementing large multi-sectoral programmes (eg: Food Security, WASH, Community Development, Protection, etc.), both directly as well as through working with local implementing partners.

Under the direct supervision of BRCiS M&E officer, the selected enumerators will take full responsibility for handling all the enumeration-related activities, including contacting BRCiS beneficiaries over the phone, conduct interviews with them based on pre-agreed survey protocols, amongst others.

Duties and responsibilities

Provides data entry services through use of digital mobile data collection systems.

Make contact with BRCiS program beneficiaries through the usage of predetermined questionnaire and collect data from them.

Ensures the confidentiality of collected data and data storage are maintained.

File and archive all hard data collected from the BRCiS beneficiaries ensuring that they arranged probably and in a correct manner.

Implement field data collections of any type (quick surveys, assessment, Impact assessment) as requested by BRCiS department.

Support the BRCiS team of any data collection task and any other task that they might require for your assistance.

Maintain and safeguarding of all the equipment’s in the call center.

Any other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

University degree is required, Diploma.

in Business Administration or Health related background will be an added advantage.

At least one-year data collection and community.

engagement experience or relevant work experience.

Personal qualities

Good community mobilization skills, and ability to resolve individual and group conflicts.

Excellent English language proficiency Ability to understand different Somali dialects.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Ability to work independently and with very limited supervision.
