NRC in Somalia

NRC has been active in Somalia since 2004 with four area offices in Kismayu, Mogadishu, Garowe and Hargeisa, providing protection and humanitarian assistance to refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees in Somaliland, Puntland, South Central and Jubbaland regions. NRC offers a comprehensive response for returnees and IDPs of high need, addressing their food security, livelihood, shelter, education, ICLA, and water, hygiene and sanitation needs and also responding to emergencies through NRC’s five core competences; Shelter, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA).

Under the direct supervision of M&E and Programm staff the selected enumerators will take full responsibility for handling all the enumeration-related activities, including registering beneficiaries, conducting interviews with them based on pre-agreed survey protocols, amongst others.

Duties and responsibilities

Provides data entry services through use of digital mobile data collection systems. Ensures the confidentiality of collected data and data storage are maintained. Attend training and briefing organized by M&E prior to the data collection. Conduct household surveys, key informant interviews and focus group discussions as instructed by M&E or project focal person. Collect and accurately record all required data using the data collection tools provided by NRC.

Qualifications

A university graduate in statistics, social science, or other related field. Has experience of conducting data collection ( At least one-year data collection and community engagement experience or relevant work experience. ) Only selected candidates will be contacted. Late submissions will not be considered. Candidates currently in Galmudug state ( Dhusamareb, Abudwak, Guriel Adado and Galkayo ) are highly encouraged to apply .

Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word) Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and team work skills Good cultural awareness and sensitivity Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential Fluency in English & Somali, both written and verbal.

Experience with digital data collection tools (like ONA, ODK, KoboToolBox, etc.)
