Light Vehicle Driver – ( 200005MP )
ROLE PURPOSE:
Providing transport service to SC staff members, visitors or daily errands as assigned by supervisor; be responsible for the assigned vehicle and maintains the log sheet properly.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Provides car service with at most discipline, observing the driving safety regulation of SCI and traffic rules;
- Ensures that the vehicle is properly handled, kept in good condition and usable at all times;
- Checks and cleans the vehicle every day, and ensures that oil, lubricants, and water are maintained at the required standard levels;
- Ensures that all gauges are properly functioning, the necessary tools/equipments are available and kept properly;
- Maintains note and timely report on the vehicle routine service;
- Ensures that the vehicle has enough fuel and is in good condition before embarking in transport service or heading for a field trip;
- Monitors all the functioning part of the vehicle and reports to the mechanic if any irregularities are observed;
- Ensures that the vehicle is used for the intended assignment as approved by the Field Coordinator;
- Ensures that the vehicle safety belt is functional and used by self and the passengers on board;
- Reports any accident immediately to the Field Coordinator;
- Maintains correct/proper and neatly recorded vehicle log sheets and submits to the Logistics Coordinator;
- Reports in writing on any maintenance need to the logistics/field coordinator;
- Performs other related duties as required.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 3rd grade driving license.
- Driving Experience not less than 2 years in NGO
- Vehicle fleet maintenance experience;
- Experience of using HF radio systems, satellite phones and communications procedures;
- Patient, adaptable and flexible;
- Ability to travel frequently;
- Fluent in Somali/Amharc, Good level in English; driving license
