Blue Sky Energy (BSE), founded in 2015 is a private energy company and a power utility service provider with foot print across the major cities in Somalia. It is involved in electric power generation, transmission and distribution. The company recognizes the crucial role of affordable and reliable electric power supply for sustainable economic development of the country and has built a growing reputation as a provider of quality, safe and reliable electric power to its growing clientele.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO)to perform effective risk management and plan the organization’s financial strategy. The Chief Financial Officer of Blue Sky Energy will have the primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and running all the financial activities of the company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations.

The CFO must perform effective risk management and plan the company’s financial strategy. He/She will assure effectiveness of financial reporting, adherence to highest financial management standards and the establishment of a robust financial management function and thereby safeguard the integrity and accuracy of the financial system of the company.

He/she will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining investor relations and partnership compliance. The goal is to ensure its profits for achieving full financial control and sustainable growth. Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and taking action.

Requirements and qualifications

• A BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field;
• Professional qualifications like CPA/ACCA is a requirement
• MSc/MBA is an added advantage
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in finance
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
• In depth knowledge of corporate finance and risk management practices. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods and must have the ability to strategize and solve problems.
