Director of Real Estate, Dahabshiil Group – Hargeisa, Somaliland

The Group Corporate office, under the leadership of the Executive Vice Chairman, sets strategy and supervises performance of individual companies in the Group.

Position summary

The Group plans to expand its Real Estate Portfolio and are looking for an experienced Director of Real Estate to provide leadership and guidance on the Strategic Direction, Business & Operations of the Real Estate portfolio with the goal of achieving the Company’s principal objective(s) as defined by the Group Executive Vice- Chairman/Board, to manage the Real Estate Portfolio. This is a senior management position and he /she will work in close collaboration with other executives to ensure the real estate development complements other aspects of the company’s strategies.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities Required

Master’s  Degree  in  Urban  Planning,  Real  Estate  Development,  Architecture,  Business

Administration or related field from a reputable university with sufficient experience in practices and techniques to provide strong leadership in property management.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in real estate development, neighbourhood revitalization, city planning, or related field

A minimum of 5 years’ managerial level experience at a property management department

Demonstrated experience with managing housing and/or commercial development projects from concept to completion, including tenant lease-up and management

Strong knowledge of property management and tenant/landlord practices, laws, rules and regulations.

• Experience in managing  Housing  Projects Development  and  other  related civil  works

Project budgeting and creation of development and operating proformas

Ability to read and interpret market analysis, feasibility studies, master plans, construction documents, and leases

Strong familiarity with governmental processes and procedures related to real estate planning and development and working with community stakeholders

Candidate should have experience in partnering with an executive team, and a high level of written and oral communication skills.

Excellent command of English; fluency in Somali would be an advantage.
