IT Systems & Customer Support Associate

Background

At Sahanbooks, our mission is to bring the benefits and pleasures of reading to everyone in Africa.

Sahanbooks recently opened a flagship bookshop in Hargeisa, Somaliland and aims to expand its retail presence across the country. Work is in progress to sell digital and print books at affordable prices through our online bookshop.

We are also setting up SahanPublishing, the new publishing arm of Sahanbooks, which will publish and distribute digital and print books in local languages.

The Role

We are looking for an IT Systems & Customer Support Associate to manage our IT systems, as well as provide customer-facing support, at an exciting point in the development of Sahanbooks.

You will administer the retail systems for the bookshop and warehouse (eg: point-of-sale and accounting software, e-commerce website, scanning and printing hardware), troubleshooting issues when they arise.

You will also assist the Store Manager with managing inventory, ordering and replenishing stock and managing our social media channels, where you will be involved in producing engaging content and responding to posts.

The role would suit a person who is comfortable working with a range of IT systems, enjoys providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment, is happy to take on a range of projects across the bookshop and has a Bachelor’s degree.
