Position Location: El-Afweyn, Somaliland

Diversity Action Network (DAN), previously known as Disability Action Network, was founded in 2002, as a nonprofit organization, to work toward a Horn of Africa society that is inclusive, and free from hunger, poverty, and injustice.

DAN has partnered with the Somalia Resilience Program (SomReP) Consortium to implement a 3-year small disability inclusion component of “the Somaliland Enhanced Resilience through Inclusive Economic/Market Systems Development and Climate Smart Approaches (SERECA) project”. The overall goal of the project is to support women, persons with disabilities, agro-pastoralists, and pastoralists to have access to market systems and inclusive financial and business development services, and engage in a variety of opportunities, in a diversity of market systems.

The disability inclusion component that DAN is implementing aims to mainstream awareness, skills development,  and linkage to basic service networks for persons with disabilities living in 15 villages around El-Afweyn District. The disability inclusion component will be implemented hand-in-hand with Oxfam. The main activities of the project include carrying out an assessment to identify persons with disabilities in 15 villages in El-Afweyn District, carrying out training workshops on advocacy skills, sensitizing participants about their rights and available services, and facilitating a link with the existing resilience program.

1. DAN is looking for a project manager based in the El-Afweyn district to lead a small team of 3 enumerators, serve as a field project focal person and organize the implementation of the project activities (1 position).
2. DAN is also looking for 3 enumerators to carry out a small-scale survey to identify persons with disabilities in the project targeting 15 villages around El-Afweyn (3 positions).
