SRCS (Bisha Cas) is seeking a qualified candidate for the following position;
Job Title: Ambulance Responder Team Leader
Grade: Band 3
Reporting to: Fisrt Aid Focal Point.
Duty Station: Lasanod Branch Office

Contract Type: Fixed Term (One year of possible renewal)
Background
The SRCS is an independent, non-political humanitarian organization founded in April 1963 and was established with presidential decree No. 187 in 1965. The ICRC then recognized it in 1969 and became a member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the same year.
Main tasks
Ambulance responder team leader will be responsible for leading the team to respond urgently in order to assist victims by arriving the earliest possible at the incident scene after receiving dispatch go a head from the dispatcher on standby
On the site, the Ambulance Responder TL is responsible to assess the dangers of the environment and then continue to assess the condition of any people who are injured or ill and provide all necessary care until handing over to medical facilities, if referral is needed. The TL is responsible to inform the Dispatch for any major risks in the area of operations. The TL is responsible to deliver effective and quality First Aid on spot, transportation, or even providing dignified care and transportation of dead bodies to the medical referral centers or homes after the request of the patient family if they are present at the scene and the request of the Dispatch.
The TL is responsible for the proper filling of the PCR sheet for each patient with the necessary information required, or assign any other member of the team to do so. Safeguarding all patient records (medical & non medical) and handing over to the Dispatchers upon returning to the ambulance station or at the end of shift. Keeping the confidentiality and privacy of the patients unless medical personel demands from the team. Completing appropriate and clear documentation relating to journeys undertaken with the SRCS Ambulance in accordance with the SRCS policies and protocols.
In case of big incidents, the Ambulance Responder TL is responsible for assessing security and safety at the scene of incidents and keeping alert and conscious for any other further dangers; producing a monthly report. Performing prioritisation to the mass casualties incidents and making triage area in order to sort out patients.
At all times, the Ambulance Responder on shift should be prepared and ready with his PPE and response kits/materials that should used. He should always make the best possible effort to hygienic practices that will
As representative of the SRCS the Ambulance Responder should be complying with the Code of Conduct, be smart in appearance and courteous at all times to convey a high level of confidence to the public.The team leader should be supervising and monitoring the team members’s attendance and guide the team to adhere the program guideline and ethical behavior that should be practice at the emergency scene, during patients transportation and at the office
Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of the security and safety of the incident scene before the responder enters the scene for FA intervention.
- Leading the team for response to emergencies and provide guidance and delegation of responsibles to the Ambulance responders for quality pre-hospital care
- Coordinate with the dispatcher and FAPHEC Focal point during emergency responses.
- Coordinate and collaborate with authorities and other actors at the scene.
- Perform triage in mass casualties and evacuate casualties that need further assistance to referral hospitals
- Keep a record of types of injuries, First Aid and details of the patient and hand over the PCR documents to the dispatcher for further filling
- Regular meetings (briefings and debriefings) to share information and lesson learns of the emergency responded
- Must be knowledgeable of all the tools used in the SRCS FA program ( Beacon dispatch system, PCR excel/word filling) and FA kit contents.
- Aware and keep updated response Kit contents after emergency response and should be responsible all response materials are available in side Ambulances
- Taking the lead of ambulance disinfections, cleaning and the general hygene of the FA project vehicle in the morning and after emergency responses
- Taking lead and suppervision cleaning of the team standby and night lodging rooms and the environment
- Ensure the proper handling of the mobile phones and hansets assigned to their ambulances and report if there is damage and/or malfactioning of the electronics.
- Inspect and report damages to/by the vehicle during responces or inside the office,
- Safeguard the integrity of the oporations by identifying and reporting security threats resulting from misbehavior or lack of displine of the crew member at any time to the FA Focal Point.
- Work closely with the dispatcher for accurate recording of the patient details in the PCR. Review, together with the dispatcher at the end of each shift and at the end of their standby time (Daily & weekly) to crosscheck the accuracy of information in the Beacon system and as well the PCR excel sheet to minimize errors in the reporting.
- Responsible of the shift team’s presence at their dution station and reportig to the focal point those that have not attended (absentees). Assuring that attendance sheet are sign clearly and properly of those only who reported work on time (punctuality).
Qualification Requirements
- Completion of high school education is mandatory.
- Diploma in health sciences, nursing, or related field is preferred.
- Driving licence with demonstrable good driving skills is mandatory.
- Demostrable experience and clinical skills in the field of First Aid and Prehospital Care.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Humanitarian drive, willingness to support the community, learning and self-development mindset.
- English is an asset (possible training and meetings out of , trainings in English, reporting).
- Valid passport, IDS and license.
- Team leader skills, knowledge and behavior
- Dynamic and cope with pressure and other external challenges
We offer:
SRCS offers a temporary or one year contract, renewable depending on both funding and performance.
Salary and Benefits are according to SRCS terms of employment for national staff.
