ANC- 1 Position – Afmadow, Somalia
Job Description
The incumbent will be responsible for the day to day implementation of Nehrro activities in the field in accordance with the implementation framework and donor guidelines.
SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ANC care provider will undertake a number of duties and responsibilities, including:
- Provide effective antenatal care
- Monitor the progress of pregnancy and fetal development
- Evaluate the physical, psychological and sociological effects of pregnancy on the woman
- Discuss the initial assessment visit, define its objectives and consider the significance of the different components of the woman’s history taken by the midwife
- Describe the physical examination and the psychological support of the woman at the initial assessment and the subsequent visits
- Discover early pregnancy complications
- Any other duties as directed by the supervisor or the Program/Medical doctor
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor/Diploma in Nursing or Clinical Nutrition from a recognised institution
- Experience in maternal and child health or equivalent qualifications
- At least 3 years experience after graduation
- Must be a local and a resident from the Lower Juba region
- Strong moral standards; honesty, transparency, generosity, altruism and respect
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a team and independently.
