𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝

The Ministry of Finance of North East State is recruiting a skilled and committed Budget Execution Officer to strengthen its Budget Department. The role is vital in ensuring that government resources are released, managed, and utilized in line with approved budgetary allocations and financial regulations.

𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 & 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬

The Budget Execution Officer will be responsible for:

– Managing the release of funds to government departments and agencies in accordance with approved budgets.
– Monitoring expenditure commitments to ensure compliance with financial and budgetary regulations.
– Reviewing and authorizing requests for budget allotments and disbursements.
– Tracking cash flows and ensuring availability of funds for priority programs.
– Maintaining records of budget execution and updating the financial management information system.
– Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual budget execution reports for senior management.
– Identifying budget execution challenges and recommending corrective actions.
– Coordinating with line ministries and the treasury to ensure timely payment processing.
– Supporting budget adjustments, reallocations, and supplementary requests as needed.
– Ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in the use of public funds.

𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬

– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
– Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Public Financial Management (preferred).
– Minimum of 2 years’ experience in budget execution, treasury operations, or public financial management.
– Strong knowledge of budgetary control systems and public finance regulations.
– Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
– Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
– Commitment to ethical standards and transparency in financial management.
